Due to recent developments, the 2020-All Girls State Tournament will not be held on March 28th. As of now, we do not have an alternate date for this tournament.

Any female student enrolled in an Ohio school, or home schooled in Ohio, in grades K-12 will be eligible to participate. Players with more than 10 rated games are not eligible for the nonrated sections. Current USCF membership is required to play in the rated sections. Players in the rated sections must be registered with http://www.uschess.org before the tournament. The March rating supplement will be used for pairing purposes. In the non-rated sections, notation is not required. Notation is required in the rated sections, though notation is optional for grade K-3 players, but a player may lose the right to make claims requiring a score sheet. Players in the rated sections are required to use a clock if either player provides one. In the non-rated section, players may use a clock if one player provides one and both players agree. In all sections, clocks will be used if games approach the time limit. Students in the rated sections are encouraged to bring their own clocks. Boards and pieces will be provided. Each player will play every round unless a bye is requested. Participants may request a half point bye for one round only, excluding the fifth round. Byes must be requested before the start of round 2.
Two or more players enrolled in the same school in the same section will be eligible for a team prize. Team scores will be calculated by adding the points accumulated by its three top scoring players in the section.
Trophies will be awarded for all players scoring 3.5 and higher. Team trophies will be given to the top 3 teams in each section. Medals for all participants.
Check-in is from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. No section changes after 9:30 AM and no on-site entries.
5 Round Swiss System Individual/Team all sections except for the Championship section; 4 Round Swiss System Individual/Team in this section. Pairings and announcements will begin at 9:45 AM. Round one will start promptly at 10:00 AM with following rounds occurring with a reasonable amount of time between rounds. All rounds will be Game/30; d5, except for the Championship Section which will be Game/45; d5.
$35 before March 20th, $40 thereafter. Last day to register is March 27th, 6 PM. Low income students may qualify for a limited number of reduced entry fees (see OSCA Event Guidelines at www.ohioscholasticchess.org).
