Thanks to all who participated in the Columbus Women’s Chess Championship! Congrats to Adeti M. for going 4-0 and becoming the 2017 Columbus Women’s Chess Champion!

Presented by the Columbus Chess Academy and Buckeye Chess Club

Why: To create a positive and supportive community for women and girl chess players; and to encourage more girls and women to play chess.

When: July 29th – 30th

Where: The Buckeye Chess Club, 6321 E. Livingston Ave (Suite E), Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. We will have food, prizes, and a tournament (rated and non-rated sections). The event is FREE!

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Potluck Lunch

12:30 PM – 2:40 PM: Round 1

2:40 PM – 2:45 PM: Raffle

2:45 PM – 4:55 PM: Round 2

Sunday, July 30th:

9:00 AM – 11:10 AM: Round 3

11:10 AM – 12:00 PM: Lunch on your own

12:00 PM – 2:10 PM: Round 4

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Round 1

1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Round 2

2:40 PM – 2:45 PM: Raffle

2:45 PM – 3:45 PM: Round 3

3:45 PM – 4:45 PM: Round 4

Since it is a potluck on Saturday, please bring something to share. Cake and ice cream will be available on Sunday after round 4.

Prizes for Rated Section: 1st: $50 and trophy; 2nd: $25 and trophy

Prizes for Non-Rated Section: 1st: $20 and trophy; 2nd: $10 and trophy

Any unrated girl under 18 will get a free 1-year USCF membership.

*The title of the Columbus Women’s Champion will go to the player in the greater Columbus region (any county surrounding Franklin County), though all women and girls are welcome to participate in the event.
